Milton Bradley Microvision (1979) — the world's first handheld game console with interchangeable cartridges. It featured a tiny 16×16 pixel LCD screen and a paddle dial controller.
CPUs
Intel 8021: 8-bit microcontroller with 64 bytes RAM, up to 1KB ROM. Used in early cartridges like Block Buster and Star Trek: Phaser Strike.
TI TMS1100: 4-bit microcontroller with 128 nibbles RAM, ~2KB ROM. Used in later titles like Connect Four and Bowling.
